Smart Phones

Choosing the right cell phone can be a daunting task. Most people use their cell phones for so much more than talking and texting these days. Many of them have built in internet access, cameras, music…the list goes on and on. Getting the best deal possible on your new favorite phone is getting easier to do than ever because of all the competition that exists between carriers. Many of them offer free phones and monthly incentives when you sign a contract.

One of the newer phones on the market today is the Nokia N97. This phone has so many features and options. It has a touch screen and slides open sideways to reveal a QWERTY keyboard, which is almost every texter’s dream. This phone has loads of memory and the touch screen is 3.5”, so it’s perfect for people that like to watch movies or television on their phones. The digital camera is top of the line. Recording and editing video is another cool feature of this gem. If you’re the type of person that gets lost easily, then you’ll really appreciate the built in GPS too.

This phone is offered through many different carriers, all of which have money saving options to entice you to their networks. Many of the carriers will offer the N97 for free when you sign up for an 18 month contract. They will also offer line rental discounts. Every carrier varies in the amount of minutes and texts that they offer. Some will offer free unlimited calls to certain landlines and others will offer unlimited texts. The key is to find the carrier that has the best coverage and the best deal. Of course, there are bonus offers of free prizes that are offered with certain phones. Often times you can get a free laptop, iPod or a host of other cool items by signing a contract. So be sure to keep that in mind when you’re comparing phones.

If you’re more of a texter than a talker, getting a plan that offers unlimited texts is a smart way to go. If you’re going to be getting online a lot, finding a plan that includes internet access is probably your best option. All plans are not created equal! Some will charge extra for internet access. Be sure to read the fine print of the offer. This is yet another reason why it is smart to compare plans from different carriers, so that you don’t end up spending more money than you budgeted for.

Of course, not everybody wants or needs all of the extra features on a cell phone. Some people just want to keep it simple. This makes the Nokia 1661 the perfect choice because it doesn’t have all of the extra features of many other cell phones and therefore, it has a very low cost. Of course, it is also available for free from a few different carriers. It has a 1.8” screen and comes with a few different games. The built in radio and the talking alarm clock are interesting and useful features. Contract prices on this phone will vary depending on the amount of minutes that you’ll use and the amount of texts that you’ll send. This phone is perfect for people that are on a budget.
